CUMIS donates a million Aeroplan points and $13,000 to help alleviate hunger

December 16, 2008 – The CUMIS Group Limited (CUMIS) has made two special donations to help alleviate hunger this holiday season.

CUMIS has donated a million Aeroplan points to Air Canada’s Kids’ Horizons program, as well as a total of $13,000 to food banks in each of the regions in which CUMIS operates to use for the purchase of non-perishable food items and other basic necessities.

“As we’re getting ready for the holidays, buying gifts and planning our special meals with family and friends, we sometimes overlook the fact that there are people – children – in our communities who will go without a proper meal this holiday season,” said Kenn Lalonde, president and CEO, The CUMIS Group Limited, as he announced the donation to CUMIS employees. “It is my sincere hope that this will help to keep some of those in need from going hungry.”

Air Canada’s Kids’ Horizons program works in partnership with charities and non-profit organizations to offer effective programs that make a difference in the lives of young Canadians. It is especially focused on the health of Canadian children, alleviating child poverty and answering the wishes of seriously ill children.
