CUMIS celebrates Canada Day with en masse singing of national anthem

June 27, 2008 – Burlington, ON – On Thursday, June 26 CUMIS employees demonstrated their patriotism by dressing in red and white company t-shirts and gathering around the flagpole at the organization's head office in Burlington, Ontario to sing ‘O Canada’ en masse, accompanied by the Burlington Salvation Army Corp Band’s seven piece brass ensemble.

“With the celebration of Canada’s 141st birthday, we have an occasion to reflect on the contributions we make to this country,” said Kenn Lalonde, President and CEO, The CUMIS Group Limited. “CUMIS promotes the growth and success of the credit union system in Canada. After more than 70 years, I’m proud that our founding vision of serving credit unions has remained the same and our commitment to serve Canadians is as strong as ever.

Also in attendance were Burlington MP Mike Wallace, Burlington MPP Joyce Savoline,  Burlington Ward 1 Councillor Rick Craven, and The United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton CEO Darrel Skidmore and Associate Campaign Director Susan Elliott.
